Playground Games Gallery
What happens when four teams of scholars from different disciplines meet for the first time, plan a research project on the fly, and pitch it to a live audience and panel of judges? Our second annual Playground Games! With only 45 minutes to plan a research project centered on the theme “Sense of Place: Creatively Shaping Our Community,” the 16 academics collectively came up with interesting, thoughtful ideas on December 2, 2015.
Although each group’s pitch was playful and engaging, the Silver team was chosen to win $3,000 for “Beyond Fear: Community Storytelling.” The group plans to counteract negative public discourses about refugees by working with local refugee communities to collect and present their stories through digital and live domains.
